Joanna Gaines Just Revealed Her 2025 Christmas Tree Theme

Joanna Gaines has three words for you this Christmas season: ‘Glimmery Gold Goodness.’ It’s a phrase that captures the exact brand of whimsy we’re all craving right now – and also happens to be the official theme of the designer’s latest treescape in her idyllic Waco home. Through the tall, restored farmhouse windows, Joanna’s Christmas tree decor is every bit as gilded, layered, and twinkling as the name promises.

‘Look at this tree. It’s so pretty,’ Joanna says in a recent Instagram reel, starting at the base – first clocking a scalloped–edge velvet tree skirt – and slowly panning upward. She lets us take in every last glimmering detail: the Winter Splendor Garland strung with snow–like crystal beads, and a collected yet cohesive mix of antique–inspired ornaments that align neatly with her out–with–the–new, in–with–the–old ethos.

Of course, beautiful decor shines brightest atop beautiful bones. Joanna’s tree – a cinematic, pre-lit 7.5–foot Carolina Fraser from Terrain – sets the stage. ‘I actually got this tree at Terrain,’ she shares, noting that it was on sale during the retailer’s rare (and ongoing) 30% off holiday promo. ‘Watch this tree. It twinkles. And at night, it is just the most magical thing. I love it.’

Each piece is lovely on its own, but the real lesson in Joanna’s ‘Glimmery Gold Goodness’ treescape is how precisely every element heightens the next. Warm micro–LEDs bounce off glass ornaments; the glass picks up the metallics; the metallics send the shimmer right back. Nothing competes, but everything compounds – an ethereal echo chamber, if you will.

There are generally two camps of holiday decorators: the metallics–and–bright–white–LED loyalists, and the maximalists chasing a bygone ’90s nostalgia. Joanna, of course, is both – and she’s already shown us how to recreate the latter in her delightfully vintage ‘Kitschmas’ tree tutorial on Instagram, inspired by a request from her son.
