The Kia Seltos has always been one of the most popular and best-selling mid-size SUVs in the country, and even in its most affordable variant, it promises the same strong road presence and brand value. 2026 Kia Seltos HTE Exterior

The design of the new 2026 Kia Seltos follows a boxy, upright, and dominating stance. The base variant, HTE, will follow the same design language as the higher variants but will miss out on gloss-black elements. At the front, for example, the skid plate comes in a silver finishing attached to the front bumper with squarer lines, a black sculpted grille, vertical LED DRLs and an ice-cube LED headlight setup. But this variant misses out on LED fog lights, and the use of chrome and glossy elements is kept to a minimum. 

At the side, the HTE variant comes with 16-inch steel rims with wheel covers, a request sensor for keyless entry, a shark fin antenna, and manual-type flush door handles. The particular variant misses out on roof rails. 

Coming at the rear, the Seltos now gets a new bumper. This variant does get a rear skid plate, but comes with a silver finish. The rear profile is further elevated by connected LED taillights, an integrated spoiler, and a clean tailgate design.

Inside the base variant of the new Seltos, you will like how the dashboard layout follows a similar sporty yet elegant character. The interior is finished in a dual-tone Smoky Black and Grey colour theme with Matte Blue accents, and the same colour scheme is followed on the seats as well. The inside door handles get a metallic finish, the driver’s seat gets height adjustment, and the steering comes with integrated controls for the infotainment system and cruise control. The centre console houses an armrest and cup holders. 

Thanks to a new platform and grown dimensions, the Seltos now offers even more space on the rear seats with good knee room, ample headroom, and enough space to seat three. It does come with rear AC vents, but misses out on a sunroof and window sun blinds.

The Kia Seltos 2026 is available across three engine options, but the base HTE variant can be had with only two engine options. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Sadly, though, the HTE variant does not offer an automatic transmission on any engine; only manuals are available.

2026 Kia Seltos HTE Expected Price And Launch Timeline

The official launch of the new Kia Seltos is slated for January 2, 2026, where the prices of the car will also be announced. Deliveries are expected to start later in mid-January 2026. Interested customers can reserve their Seltos with a booking amount of Rs 25,000. 

Kia has not yet released the official price list of the new Seltos, but taking reference from prices of the outgoing model, the 2026 Seltos is expected to be priced from Rs 11.2 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant with Petrol NA manual, while the top-of-the-line Diesel AT could be priced upwards of Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom).
