Audi recently revealed its new concept – an all-electric two-seater roadster which, although tipped as the successor to the Audi TT, seems to be more a blend of the best Audi sports cars in history. It previews the design of all future Audi models – success will be vital to the company going forward.

The interior of the Audi Concept C is based around clear geometric forms and showcases a simplicity that the brand prioritizes in the overall design. There are physical controls for a tactile experience, and the color palette is two-tone and based around natural materials that reflect warmth, rather than the clinical feel that ultra-futuristic concepts tend to have.

Audi has made the interior of the Concept C uncluttered and minimalist with a folding (or stowable) mutlimedia display. There is no busy center stack with buttons, with a thin strip hosting controls for what we assume is climate control and more.

The display Audi has used for the Concept C is 10.4 inches in size and can be managed via haptic controls on the steering wheel and illuminated icons below the screen.

Anodized aluminum features heavily inside the Audi Concept C, along with what seems to be natural woven materials and hide on the dashboard. There is indirect ambient lighting, too, and Audi says that it features “natural hues” instead of the brash colors other German models showcase these days.

The Concept C exterior is unlike any Audi we’ve ever seen, with some commenting that it looks as though Audi has followed Jaguar’s styling cues as seen on the Type 00. The Concept C is all smooth panels and curves, with very little nostalgia for the Audi TT we had hoped to see echoed in this design.

Audi says the exterior of the Concept C shows “radical simplicity and technical precision”, which are core to the brand’s new design philosophy. The side profile shows off the drop-top capability while retaining monolithic styling. This color is called ‘Titanium’.

This is Audi’s new brand face that features a vertical frame and four-element light signature. Audi says the grille area is a reimagining of Audi designs of yore, harking back to the Auto Union Type C from 1936 and the 2004 Audi A6 – this design is by far the most futuristic we’ve seen from a brand known for understated elegance and sportiness.

Unlike the Audi TT, the Concept C seems to be a much larger roadster, with its proportions resulting from a central-battery layout, with the cabin extending far back over a long hood. The new light signature features four horizontally arranged elements for each of the head- and taillights.

Audi has used an electrically retractable hardtop for the first time on one of its cars. The older TT models could be had in either coupe or covnertible format, with the latter having a folding soft-top.

At the back, the Concept C exterior has louvers instead of a traditional rear window and a blocky rear end topped by slim taillights. Audi calls this the embodiment of “athleitc minimalism” with a purity of form and solidity. Flared haunches suggest the electric Audi Concept C has a focus on performance.
