HPMA Announces Fall High Point Market Event Schedule

The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) has released its Fall Market programming and events scheduled for HPMA’s branded pop-up venue The Point, open daily from Friday, Oct. 25 to Wednesday, Oct. 30. 

The Point offers a variety of educational and networking opportunities, which are available to registered High Point Market attendees at no charge. 

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25 

Market 101 Live! Panel discussion with the Diversity Advocacy Alliance (DAA), DuVäl Reynolds of DuVäl Design, Erin Weir of Pearl Collective, Asha Maxey of Asha Maía Design and Gina Hicks of Vivid Interiors. Moderated by Dawn Brinson, CEO of A New Day Creative Communications and Marketing. 

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26 

Hot Spot Tours. Discover the latest in rugs with Heather Fujikawa of House Sprucing, or meet Rebecca Plumb and Shaun Crha, hosts of the Hot Young Designers Club Podcast. RSVP required to participate. 

Process to Profits: How A New Generation of Designer Procurement Groups Can Better Your Business. Leather Lounge, A Leather Journey: From Hide to Handcrafted Panel discussion on designing furnishings and interiors with leather with Taylar Hoffman, Product Director of  American Leather, Frank Toledano, President & CEO of Tiger Leather, Sackett Wood, President of Moore & Giles, and moderated by Carrie Cox, Director of Brand Experience of American Leather. 

AI Essentials 101: Growing your Design Business Panel discussion on the role of AI in transforming the design industry joined by Ginger Curtis, Founder & CEO of Urbanology Designs, Jenna Gaidusek, Founder of Jenna Gaidusek Designs, Stacy Garcia, Founder of Stacy Garcia Design Studio, Mariah Samost, Founder & CEO of Materlog, and moderated by David Cohen, co-founder of Artistic Design Works, a division of David Cohen Brands.

Fluent in Construction: BTS with Interior Designers Influencing The Construction Choices That Shape Their Interiors A panel exploring the intersection of construction and design with industry experts Elizabeth Scruggs, general contractor and principal designer of Superior Construction, Sharon Sherman, owner of Thyme & Place Design, Heather and Matt French of French and French Interiors and Rachel Moriarty, owner of Rachel Moriarty Interiors. Moderated by Julia Zapcic. 

Style Spotters Meet & Greet Welcome designers Galey Alix of HBO’s “Home in a Heartbeat with Galey Alix” and Mikel Welch of Netflix’s Emmy-award winning “Hack My Home” at The Point. 

The Brand Advantage: How to Build an Iconic Interior Design Brand Ericka Saurit moderates interior designer panel with Anne-Marie Barton, owner of AMB Design, Breegan Jane, Caren Rideau, founder of Kitchen Design Group, and Jessica Duce, owner of JDuce Design. After the panel, Caren Rideau will host a book signing of her book, Caren Rideau: Kitchen Designer, Vintner, Entertaining at Home. 

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29 
Hot Spot Tours Discover vacation rental design with Jane Dagmi of HPxD and Jessica Duce of JDuce Design. RSVP to participate. 

From Data to Design: Navigating Emerging Textile Trends Learn the latest consumer trends in textile design and manufacturing with Jaye Anna Mize and Carrie Dillon, managing director of the International Textile Alliance.

Located one block west of the Transportation Terminal on Commerce Ave, The Point is open to registered High Point Market buyers on Fri., Oct. 25 through Tues., Oct. 29 from 8am to 8pm. The Point closes at 12pm on Weds., Oct. 30. 

In addition to the HPMA-organized programming, The Point also serves as a daily lounge and eatery. The location includes a guest services center with Market Advisors to assist with trade show information, including navigation, event suggestions and help planning showroom visits. 

Food vendor The Blooming Board will offer a daily assortment of fresh salads, sandwiches and charcuterie, Oct. 25-29, 11am to 2pm. 

The Point’s events are sponsored by American Leather, Barbour Spangle Design, Benjamin Moore, MaterLog, Saurit Creative, Ultraviolet Agency and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). 

Interior design direction for The Point this season is courtesy of DuVäl Reynolds, principal of DuVäl Design. His aesthetic merges Palm Beach sophistication with Beverly Hills opulence, featuring bold tropical patterns and luxurious textures. 

Furnishings in The Point are sourced from High Point Market exhibitors and partners, including Anna Elisabeth Greenhouse Fabrics, Benjamin Moore, Classic Home, Gabby, Summer Classics, Hooker Furnishings, Hudson Valley Lighting, Made Goods, RW Collective, Safavieh and York Wallcoverings.
