I needed to add storage to my tiny kitchen and these Magnolia buys came through
I love my tiny kitchen, and I really do mean that. It works perfectly for me right now, and is part of an open plan space, which is ideal for this host who never wants to miss out on any of the socializing while I cook. However, there is one thing I would like to improve on, and that is squeezing in some more wall storage.
The spot I have planned isn’t a vast wall space, so big shelves aren’t an option, I need something chic and compact that I can use like a mini pantry – I want this kitchen storage to look lovely but also work practically. I got quotes for something bespoke and built-in, and what I got back was mostly in the thousands. So I started hunting for some no-demo, more affordable versions that would add some extra storage to my small kitchen.
I found everything I was looking for at unexpectedly afforable prices at Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia.

The brief was solid wood, nothing huge, wall mountable, and space for storage and decor – a single cabinet that didn’t cost over a few hundred dollars. And Magnolia’s site is full of pieces that tick all these boxes, and for surprisingly reasonable prices too.
Right now, there’s a summer sale running on the site, making these quality pieces even more of a bargain, with prices starting from just $95 – a fraction of the price for very similar bespoke designs I was quoted.

Your Story Wooden Display Cabinet
This is the piece that made it into my cart and will be making its way onto my kitchen wall. It also happens to be the cheapest too. I love the vintage look of the curved frame and worn wood.

Vaughn Antiqued Wood Shelf With Doors
This wall cabinet was a top contender because of the mix of open and closed storage. You could store your nicest crockery on the shelving and use the cabinet to keep napkins or barware. I think this would be ideal bathroom storage too.

Hannon Wood and Brass Display Shelf
Plate racks have been making a comeback over recent years, an easy way to add some rustic charm to your kitchen and get your nicest pieces out on display. This is a very streamlined design which makes it ideal for small kitchens, and there’s also a shelf and a handy rail, so not just good for plates.

Linnea Antiqued Wood Shelf
Kitchens are so often full of clean lines and sleek finishes, so adding in some texture can be tricky, but essential. This wooden shelving unit with its charming scalloped edges would be ideal for adding some softness (and some storage) to a kitchen.

Gristmill Mirrored Wall Cabinet
I know this reads more bathroom than kitchen, but hear me out. Mirrors are a must in a small space, so why wouldn’t they work in a small kitchen? Add some hooks to the rail to hang utensils and I think this could be a perfect kitchen cabinet.

Antiqued Wood Window Pane Display Cabinet
This would make for an ideal spice cabinet, keeping them easy to access and looking chic and well-organized. But this cabinet isn’t so tiny that you couldn’t use it for keeping your favorite mugs or glassware on display too.
And these pieces don’t just work in kitchens. They are an easy, quick, and affordable way to add extra storage to any room, although I do imagine they would be ideal as bathroom storage. There’s plenty more bargains to be had in the Magnolia sale too, no matter what room you are focusing on, there’s up to 60% off across all departments.
