Kia Corporation has officially revealed the exterior design of its upcoming PV5 Passenger and Cargo models ahead of the 2025 Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain. The PV5 is the first vehicle under Kia’s new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) strategy, aimed directly at people and commercial mobility.
Originally previewed as the Concept PV5 at CES 2024, the midsized EV incorporates a modular design to accommodate various use cases. Kia plans to introduce multiple PV5 configurations,
The PV5’s contemporary, geometric exterior distinguishes it from conventional light commercial vehicles. According to Kia, its design philosophy, “Opposites United,” influences the PV5’s bold, futuristic aesthetic.
PV5 Passenger


The PV5 Passenger variant focuses on visibility with modern aesthetics, featuring large window areas framed by black graphic glass surrounds. Its low beltline enables openness, while robust black geometric claddings link the cabin’s high-tech appearance with a rugged lower body.
Additional elements include:
- Signature lighting and sleek black headlight accents for a modern appeal.
- Lift-up tailgate door above a reinforced bumper for practicality.
- Horizontal body colour continuity from the side to the rear, for a unified visual stance.
PV5 Cargo


Designed for space efficiency, the PV5 Cargo model adopts a boxier profile to maximize cargo capacity. While maintaining the Passenger model’s geometric design, it offers:
- Twin side-opening tailgate doors for more effortless loading and unloading.
- Simplified, modern aesthetics with an emphasis on functionality.
- Reinforced rear design that enhances practicality while maintaining a strong visual identity.
Upcoming Kia EV Day Presentation
Kia’s 2025 EV Day, scheduled for February 24 in Tarragona, Spain, will showcase the complete PV5 lineup, including derivative and conversion models. The brand will also outline its broader PBV business strategy, focusing on modularity and future applications.
