Porsche Cayenne and Taycan Black Editions revealed
Porsche has announced Black Edition versions of its Cayenne large SUV and Taycan electric sports sedan ahead of their public reveal at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
More than just a sticker pack, both special editions bring a host of exclusive interior and exterior design cues plus additional comfort features, and both will be available with a range of powertrains.
The Cayenne and Taycan Black Editions won’t just be offered in stealth-look black paint either; both model variants will also be available in a range of exterior finishes.

However, they won’t come cheap. At base level, the Cayenne Black edition will be priced at $156,800 before on-road costs, which is $15,100 more than the entry-level Cayenne V6 on which it’s based ($141,700 plus on-roads).
Meantime, the Taycan Black Edition is priced from $203,300 before on-road costs, which is $28,800 more than the entry-level Taycan RWD on which it’s based ($174,500 plus on-roads).
The Cayenne Black Edition will also be available with E-Hybrid and S E-Hybrid powertrains, in both wagon and ‘Coupe’ form, while the Taycan Black Edition sedan will also be offered with 4 and 4S all-wheel drive powertrains.
That means there will be a total of six Black Edition Cayennes and three Black Edition Taycans for a total of nine (see the full price list below), and all of them will be available for Australian customer delivery by the end of this year.
All Black Editions will come standard with high-gloss black-finished Sport Design styling elements, side window surrounds, rear badges and, exclusively, side mirrors, plus a rear light strip with illuminated black Porsche logo for the Taycan.
Inside, there’s a storage package, black interior accent package and black-brushed illuminated aluminium door sill guards.
In addition, the Black Edition Taycan, Taycan 4 and Taycan 4S also score the larger 105kWh Performance Battery Plus battery pack that’s normally optional for the 4 and 4S.
Both Black Editions also gain extra standard equipment including 21-inch alloy wheels with the full-colour Porsche crest on their centre caps, plus HD Matrix LED headlights (tinted for the Cayenne) and LED door projectors that show the Porsche logo.
They also add the Porsche crest on their head restraints, ‘black smooth leather’ trim and, for the Taycan, Electric Sport Sound and an exclusive Black Edition badged on the centre console.
For both Black Editions, all exterior paints in the ‘Shades’ category will be available for no extra cost, including Jet Black Metallic, Volcano Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic or Ice Grey Metallic for the Taycan, and Quartzite Grey Metallic, Vanadium Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic or Carrara White Metallic for the Cayenne.
Other colours from the Legends, Dreams and Contrasts paint categories, or via Porsche’s Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus programs, are available at extra cost.
An extended Black Edition package is also available, comprising special-edition lettering on the front doors, matching lettering on the vehicle keys, and illuminated door sills.
If you pay more again, Porsche will even personalise the vehicle keys and case, the reversible cargo floor mat, the footwell floor mats, the vehicle documentation folder, centre console lid, and the door sills, via the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur program.
