Score Black Friday deals on these 11 designer-loved furniture and decor picks
While you could certainly use Black Friday sales to stock up on essentials or practical items, it would be much more fun to shop sales for pieces that will elevate the look of your home. Lucky for you, and your wallet, we scoured the archives of Abode for designer-loved pieces and found some that are majorly marked down this weekend. These deals will get you one step closer to a magazine-worthy home.
A rocking chair for your front porch
When we asked designers to tell us their front porch essentials, we were reminded that a rocking chair really is the finishing touch for any Southern front porch. Designer Ashleigh Graber recommends the Kingsley Bate Charleston Teak Rocking Chair. It’s 30% off at Patio Living right now.
A dreamy four-poster bed
Isn’t it every child’s dream to have a four-poster bed one day? If that’s true for you, then you’ll be thrilled to find the Brock Poster Bed from Arhaus on sale for Black Friday. Designer Tara Lenney chose this piece for the primary suite in an Oak Cliff Tudor home.
A TV that’s not an eyesore

In this Dallas Tudor-style home designed by Maestri Studio, a Samsung Frame TV hangs over the fireplace, looking more like art than an entertainment device.
Jenifer McNeil Baker
Even though some designers say there’s no need to hide your TV, we’ve noticed that many still spring for an easily disguised television that’s a little more subtle in a space. The Samsung Frame TV goes on major sale for Black Friday, and you can save hundreds off the regular price.
A rustic bench for the foot of the bed (or anywhere else)
The designers behind the Omni PGA Frisco shared with us that a few pieces from Arhaus made it into the hotel’s cowboy-meets-contemporary design. The Tilton Hair-on-Hide Ottoman from the brand is on major sale ($1,200 off) and was one of the products the design team recommended if you want to get the hotel look at home.
A classic and capacious dresser
Serena & Lily’s Black Friday sale includes the Driftway Dresser, a classic storage piece wrapped in hand-painted linen and finished with matte lacquer. Designer Hillary Littlejohn chose a similar piece for the primary bedroom in her Dallas home.
Timeless counter stools for the kitchen island

In designer Hillary Littlejohn’s kitchen, countertop seating is functional and stylish. A version of these stools is on sale for Black Friday.
Stephen Karlisch
Few spots in the house have as much versatility as the kitchen island: for eating breakfast, for catching up on homework, for completing crafts and projects or decorating cookies as a family. That in mind, sturdy and unfussy counter stools are essential. Littlejohn used a white version of the Salt Stool by Ton in her home; they’re 25% off for Black Friday at Design Within Reach.
Streamlined dining chairs
In designer Alexis Pearl’s newly built house, Wishbone Chairs by Carl Hansen & Son surround the breakfast table. Design Within Reach has the chairs for 20% off right now.
Eye-catching light fixtures

The chandelier that hangs in this gaming room designed by Abbe Fenimore is by Jonathan Adler. It’s on sale now.
Emily Hart
Light fixtures are great to pick up on sale, if you get the chance, but there are often so many options that it’s difficult to narrow them down if you don’t have a strong vision. Well, here’s a thought for a playful space, courtesy of designer Abbe Fenimore: The Caracas Six-Light Chandelier by Jonathan Adler is a good pick for something like a gaming room she designed for a client’s teenagers.
If that’s not your jam, how about something textural, like the Santa Barbara Rattan Round Pendant from Serena & Lily — a sale pick very similar to the fixture Littlejohn chose for her children’s bunk room.
Durable, designer-approved rugs

Flor carpet tiles, used here in a children’s bunk room designed by Rebekah Leal, are on sale for Black Friday.

When decorating spaces for children, or rooms that require extra durability, many local pros turn to Flor carpet tiles. The brand is offering 25% off sitewide. Rebekah Leal, lead designer with Morgan Farrow Interiors, chose Flor’s Lilting tiles in teal for a children’s room in a young family’s Dallas home. (You can also see Flor tiles in the dining room of a Flower Mound home designed by Studio Steidley and some of the children’s playrooms we’ve featured.)
Sisal rugs are another favorite floor covering among local designers. Littlejohn told us that the Aurora wool-and-sisal rug from Sisal Rugs Direct is a great budget pick. The price is even better at 20% off sitewide for Black Friday.
