From styling challenges to tasks that require some unusual skills, Maddy and Charlotte, Courtney and Grant, Ricky and Haydn, Kylie and Brad and Kristian and Mimi give their all to whatever is thrown their way.
Here’s who won the challenges each week in 2024:
Who won the Surf Club Renovation Challenge? – Week 6
In this epic surf-inspired challenge, the Blockheads split into two teams to renovate the Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club, a volunteer lifesaving service on Phillip Island.
With $10,000 up for grabs, and an odd number of teams, All Stars Kyle and Kara stepped in to even the playing field.
Oh and the Blockinator, former Forman Keith, made a grand return.
After a hilarious yet intense game of ‘poison ball’, winners Ricky and Haydn nabbed the Super Ks along with Kylie and Brad. They chose to renovate the ‘island side’ of the surf club.
While Maddy and Charlotte, Kristian and Mimi, plus Courtney and Grant took on the ‘ocean side’.

To help decide the winners of this all-important challenge, Scotty called in another friend and Block favourite – former judge Neale Whitaker!
In the video above, Neale, Scotty and Shelley walked through the stunning reveal. It was then, Neale had an important decision to make.
“The team that I think has really made the biggest impact on this build… would have to be the Island team.

With Kyal and Kara as their secret weapon, winners Ricky and Haydn, along with Kylie and Brad got to split the $10,000 prize money.
With their third challenge win in a row, Ricky and Haydn really are the challenge champions!
Who won the Clay & Co Lamps Challenge? – Week 5
The Blockheads had to get in touch with their creative side during Week 5 and were tasked with making paper mache lampshades to go in their main bedrooms.
The original prize was $5,000, but when host Scott Cam noticed Grant hadn’t fronted up to the challenge in order to get ahead on their build.
To spite Grant for not coming Scotty added to the prize pool – also throwing in an incredible painting worth $20,000.
Courtney tried her best considering she was competing solo and presented a “wavy, long and cylindrical” lamp in a disturbing brown colour that resembled a uh….we’ll let you connect the dots.
In a twist that nobody saw coming, ceramic artist Kaz from Clay & Co Studio and challenge judge awarded the win to Ricky and Haydn for their pink floral inspired lamp.

“If you were to put this in front of me and tell me two fellas had done this, I wouldn’t have believed you,” Kaz said.
Way to go boys!

Who won the Fishing Challenge? – Week 4
The Block challenges have given away a lot of incredible prizes over the years, but even Scotty couldn’t quite believe what the winners of this year’s second challenge would walk away with.
In Week 4, the teams were teased with a brand new Bar Crusher boat that’s valued at over $100,000. Wouldn’t that look good parked in the driveway of your Block house!?

So what exactly did the Blockheads have to do to win it? First they had to go fishing with the aim of catching the biggest fish for a weigh in. Ricky and Haydn flexed their fishing skills and came out on top at the weigh in.
But this challenge was a two-parter. The teams then needed to take part in good old fashioned cook-up where the winner would be determined by a blind taste test.
Some teams used the cook-up to show off their culinary skills, from Jesse and Paige’s Fish en Papillote to Courtney and Grant’s Mediterranean-inspired (of course) fish with Maltese capsicum salsa.
But it was Ricky and Haydn’s humble fish ‘n chips that won Scotty, Shelley and fishing expert Lee Rayner over.
The boys were beyond stoked to walk away with the biggest challenge prize in Block history.
Who won the Penguin Challenge? – Week 3
With so much going on, the teams didn’t compete in their first challenge until Week 3 of The Block but it was certainly one worth waiting for.

Scott Cam and Shelley Craft met the teams at the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre, where the famous Phillip Island Penguin Parade takes place each night.
The teams were asked to create a nesting box for the penguins, with the team that made the best one winning an incredible $5000 cash… and a bonus point Penguin which was replacing the all important Gnome this year.
Courtney and Grant described their mosaic terracotta roofed box as “a dog’s breakfast” while Ricky and Haydn’s teepee design was a hit!

In the end it was Kylie and Brad who were announced the winners with their curved roof design.
They won the Bonus Point Penguin and $5000, and all the teams won the opportunity to watch the penguin parade in the flesh. What a treat!
